The Maritime Law Association of Singapore (MLAS) was pleased to present the 8th MLAS Maritime Mooting Competition. The Finals was successfully held at the Wee Chong Jin Moot Court (NUS Faculty of Law) on 30 January 2026. A total of 24 mooters participated in this year’s competition, showcasing strong advocacy skills and a deep understanding of maritime law.

This year’s Finals were presided by a distinguished panel of judges comprising:
• Mr Prem Kumar Gurbani (Chair), Prem Gurbani
• Mr Jaya Prakash, International, Commercial Arbitrator and Mediator
• Mr Joshua S.K Fung, 7KBW

The Prizes

The Champion will win a 2-week internship with 7KBW London, a leading commercial set. The prize includes a return air ticket with 2-weeks accommodation in London, and a cash prize of S$2,500 kindly sponsored by HFW. The timing of the internship is to be agreed between the Champion and 7KBW.
The First Runner Up will receive a cash prize of S$1,500, kindly sponsored by Virtus Law LLP.
There will be 2 Second Runners Up, each of whom will receive a cash prize of S$500, both prizes sponsored by Helmsman LLC.
